Buying dried fruit snacks can be a minefield - so many of them contain refined sugar & other unnecessary ingredients. These are pretty much pure fruit, counting as 1 of your 5 a day and are beyond delicious. My children and their friends adore them and us parents are pretty smitten too. 'Nomato' sauce - the perfect substitute for diced tomatoes in casseroles & sauces for those who can't tolerate tomatoes 🍅 (nightshades). I have come across a few individuals lately who have trouble with nightshades, so I thought I would share my fav tomato alternative. I have personally removed nightshades from my diet (temporarily!) as a part of my GAPS healing... Originally, the concept was terrifying, as many of my meals are tomato based, thus 'nomato' has been a lifesaver!! Recipe: If you do a google search, you will find numerous recipes for nomato. I have basically taken my fav bits from all them... Combine beetroot, garlic, carrot, onion, celery, a handful of herbs, 1/2 tsp salt, 3 Tbs coconut oil, 75ml apple cider vinegar & 1 cup of water in the Thermomix. Finely blend all ingredients (10 sec, speed 10) before cooking (20 mins, 100deg, speed 1). Once cooked, blend (1 min, speed 9). Using the TM5, I cheat by applying the vegetable stock recipe to chop, cook and puree the mixture. :) Without a Thermomix, finely chop/ blend your ingredients before simmering until soft. Then blend to a paste. I like to make a bulk batch & freeze into smaller portions OR ferment on the bench to preserve & pre-digests the sauce. This way I always have nomato on hand. This recipe is amazing... It creates such diversity for nightshade intolerant individuals & so closely resembles tomato sauce. Watching what you eat with kids can seem challenging. Since I have 4, If anyone should take time to perfect this, it should probably be me. 🌟 Today they had popcorn! So easy but so yummy. You could easily swap out the ghee for coconut oil, etc. Some@fresh Parmesan on top and they didn’t miss the microwave stuff one bit. 🌟 And yes, I may have tasted just a little too, even though corn isn’t Whole 30 approved. Sushi rice is made with sugar, protein amounts are small, there’s not much vegetable and a lot of the average sushi out there contains processed things (like crab sticks!) I decided to make some clean, paleo “sushi” snacks using cucumbers, cauliflower rice, cabbage, coconut cream, tuna, carrot, lemon, and sea salt 🙌🏼 Added a side of coconut aminos for dipping ☺️

I decided to make some clean, paleo “sushi”  snacks using cucumbers, cauliflower rice, cabbage, coconut cream, tuna, carrot, lemon, and sea salt 🙌🏼 Added a side of coconut aminos for dipping ☺️

Plus you eliminate all the chemicals from that microwaveable bag, you add lots of healthy oils by cooking it in either avocado, coconut or olive oil, and a little sea salt does wonders. Let’s talk snacks....plastic free snacking is something I’m not always a winner at...especially with the kids. They seem to have a zillion after school clubs and activities and I’m often packing them up food for what feels like an ultra marathon....its usually fruit topped up with snack bars, crackers etc. However these are often plastic wrapped which is a huge bummer and something we are trying to avoid. 🦔 Come to my rescue oh beautiful chewy bites 😋 I’ve found these - which I’ve posted before and I LOVE...these are the easiest, quickest and nutritious flapjacks. 🦔 With just five ingredients and super versatile for when you want to swap in (or in my case - have run out!) of something. Our snack tray for #muffintinmonday. Sometimes a different presentation (like the snack tray) is so fun that it makes Ella eat things that she forgot she doesn’t like 🤷🏼‍♀️ Give it a try! And don’t give up on veggies if they are refused in one way (or 15 ways)...keep trying! Eventually something will click, but it’s all about exposure. We just recently realized that Ella will eat about 45 carrots if they are roasted with a tiny bit of maple syrup. . . We got this booklet home from school last week and have become OBSESSED with scanning everything in the house and supermarket. Tonight by scanning I swapped two items in the supermarket for better choices! It’s so important to educate our youngsters on making the right food choices. If you know me you’ll know im an everything in moderation gal when it comes to food but some snacks- especially kids snacks have shocked me the amount of sugar and saturated fats they contain. These Sunflower and Pine nut Jam Cookies have proved a hit this weekend and are so simple to make. They are gluten free, refined sugar free, dairy free and nut free so perfect for lunchboxes. Just leave them wrapped in the freezer and take one out in the morning if you want to #mealprep and make a big batch. I find pine nuts really bring out the sweetness of other flavours in a recipe and you can use my 5 minute chia jam (recipe also on the blog with these cookies) or some from a jar. A relaxing beach picnic with my little lady. Vitamin D, healing salt water & sand. I love spending time with my children in the school holidays, but it really does take away from mindful 'me' time! A while ago we discovered the genius of sheet pan pancakes (feeds a bunch and so much easier than standing over a stove flipping one by one.) We were the first to share it on @hellowonderful_co. Since then we’ve made many sheet pan pancake varieties but our latest favorite is this adorable Bear Heart version ❤️🐻 Use your sheet pan pancakes as “cookie dough” to cut out these beary cute pancakes. One tip I can give you (if your child isn’t allergic) is adding nuts, crushed or ground into their daily treats. Nuts are full of omegas, antioxidants, protein, iron and magnesium to keep them satiated for longer. 🥜 Pep and I made these delicious balls this afternoon. Obviously not lunchbox friendly but great for afternoon, dessert and weekend snacks. 🥜 || CHOC CHIP PROTEIN BALLS || 200g medjool dates 150g walnuts 150g almond meal 1/2 cup of choc chips (we buy healthy ones from the health store) 2-3 tbl sp melted coconut oil (depending on what consistency you prefer) 1 tsp natural vanilla paste or essence Pinch of Himalayan sea salt 🥜 Blend all ingredients except the choc chips into your food processor, blender or thermo and blend on high speed for 10 secs if you prefer a chunkier consistency or up to 20 if you prefer them ‘chunk free’. Kale chip kind of Saturday here! The Kale I bought last week was already kind of wilty by the time I bought it but it was too pretty to pass up (slide to see for yourself!). Fortunately it crisped up in the oven just fine into delicious kale chips. I bake them at 350 for about 10-15mn- and almost always manage to burn them. Fortunately kiddos like em crispy! One batch I sprinkled a little olive oil on and the other I just laid on the little-bit-oily pan and I didn’t notice a difference. Så här till lördagskvällen tänkte jag dela med mig av ett av mina absolut lättaste recept på lördagsmys.

Vi är helt hooked på den här kladdkakan som är klar på nolltid.

Den är Paleo-style, helt utan vitt socker, mejeri och vete vilket jag älskar när jag bakar.

Sätt ugnen på 175 grader och smörj en form med kokosolja och strö på lite kokosflingor.

Först tar du 10 st urkärnade dadlar
1 dl kokosflingor
Mixa i matberedare

Sedan lägger du i 2 dl mandelmjöl
4 msk kakao (1 till om du älskar mörk kladdkaka som jag🎶)
0,5 tsk bakpulver
0,5 tsk vaniljpulver
Mixa igen

Nu är det dags för att blanda i 3 ägg (funkar kanon med veganägg: 3 ägg av 3 msk chiafrön & 9 msk vatten, låt stå i 15 min)
0,5 dl smält kokosolja
Mixa en sista gång

Häll smeten i formen och sätt in den i ugnen i 8 min om du vill ha den riktigt kladdig och 12 min om du vill ha den mer kakig.

Funkar att käka varm, ljummen och iskall💜💕🌟 Just loving it! Fick receptet av en kär vän och jag och kidsen har älskat den sedan dess!
